A Night With The Stars…

It’s funny how the strangest events can change you as a person. I was a mere five years old when I sat down to watch The Royal Variety Performance for the very first time. It was 1993 and the late great Cilla Black was riding high as the undisputed queen of British television thanks to the success of Blind Date and became the perfect candidate to host such a feast of entertainment. This programme changed my whole outlook on television and became the catalyst to my future ambitions. But I did not think for one second that 23 years later I would find myself actually attending The Royal Variety Performance 2016! I can hardly wait for Tuesday – it definitely will be a night to remember! You can donate to the Royal Variety Charity, formerly the EABF, via this link;

In other news I’m still slogging away editing the final draft of my autobiography. I’ve realised that it is impossible to make every chapter highly amusing (even though by my very nature I’m bloody hilarious!) but I think people respect honesty in life stories so that’s what I intend to do. It’s strange going back over your life and trying to remember those things that people will find either funny, inspiring or interesting. Especially when you have almost thirty years of memories to choose from. Nevertheless I’m currently on chapter five of thirteen so I’m beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel.

The autumn TV season has definitely kicked in and perhaps surprisingly I’m thoroughly enjoying this year’s series of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. I think the class of 2016 is the best bunch in many years. ITV must have thought they’d died and gone to heaven when the line-up was confirmed but by this year’s calibre of celebrity, I wouldn’t be surprised if next year’s series took place in the car park of Teddington Studios with the entire evicted housemates from the next series of Big Brother. I mean Danny Baker? Larry Lamb? Carol Vorderman? Have I stepped into a parallel universe?

I’m not going to give you any clues about next week’s interview but what I will say is if you like new music then it’s a must!
